2019 Vernon Library Book Fest
 
Book Fest will be held at the Vernon Library during the Vernon Car Show, August 24. We currently have local authors from the Shiawassee Writer's Group, Sally Labadie and Lynne Montney. Patrons of all ages will have book themed art on display. There will also be book related vendors in the library. There is plenty of room for more. Interested persons should contact Stacey at the library Tuesday's 10-2:30, Thursday's 10-2:30, and Friday's 10-2.

Annual Vernon Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show
Saturday, August 24, 2019 9 AM. Pre-register until Friday, August 23 for $10 at Sweets & Treats in Vernon. Registration day of the show is from 9am- 11am is $15 . Gates open at 8 am and award ceremony is at 2pm. The first 50 entries will receive dash plaques and goodie bags. Top 20 will receive Best of Show Trophies. Entertainment will be provided by Little Woofers. There will be food vendors, kids games, 50/50 raffle, craft and direct sales vendors. Stephanie Hascall is hosting a Pin Up Contest during the car show at 1pm. Entry fee is $10. Limited to 25 contestants. Winners will be 1st Overall, Runner Up, and Contestant Pick. Winners will receive a purse donated from The Village Hair Shoppe, First Overall winner will also receive a dozen roses donated by The Vernon Flower Shop.
